The Movement of Shadows – 24″x30″ – oil on canvas – Michael Burris Johnson
This is the second attempt at the Icarus composition I did back in January. Much more pleased with this one – tilted the landscape lines, as well as the direction of the clouds. Overall I feel as though there is much more movement to this one. Went for a more brown-based approach, and I feel as though the canvas holds a better harmony throughout.
I plan to continue exploring this series, there are other avenues and landscape possibilities I am interesting in painting.
