Joan of arc – captured by order, transcending by fire, knight of faith.
The top of the painting is silver, difficult to photograph.
Painted with much intensity, and very fast, several consecutive days – there is a lot of raw energy in this one.
Thematically, I feel this painting encapsulates much of what I am attempting to accomplish with these grid paintings – to pass through the neutral form of the grid and achieve expression of something human, intense, passionate – to have faith in the transformative capability of art.
